I don’t think he said that in twilight. Maybe in another one of the books in the series.

I don’t think Edward ever said that. I have read Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse over and over again, to the point where I can quote from any character from a page in the books, and I have never read or remembered a quote that quoted Edward saying that.
He didn’t say that in Twilight but i’m pretty sure he said that in Eclipse Chapter 20 “Compromise”
