Well, yeah, I think they could have chosen a better actor to play Edward but we really don’t know until after we have seen the movie.
As for Robert’s appearance, he is very handsome and kind of has that sinister kind of vibe to him.. but I don’t if he quite justifies the godly kind of image that Edward Cullen has.
But I mean, there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Just don’t go Youtube Robert Pattinson. He kind of seems to me to be a bit of an egotistical a-hole. It kind of hindered my perception of Edward. I know, I’m weird. Haha.
And no one really comes to mind to play Edward.. I haven’t seen an actor who portrays that amount of beauty or charm.
A few possibilities:
Steven Strait from the Covenant, Hayden Christensen, Shane West, Chace Crawford or Penn Badgley, or Heath Ledger would have been great!
I’m used to it now, but I was really shocked when I found it out. Well…Edward Cullen is supposed to be…….perfect. Just like an angel. And RP is not perfect, nor does he resemble the imagery of an angel – for me. Now there’s the big problem, each one of the thousands of twilight fans got their own Edwards, and it would be very difficult to get everybody or at least most people satisfied with the actor choice. Though in my opinion… yeah, they could have chosen a better one.
At first I didn’t think he was good for the part, either. But then I watched the trailer a few more times and now I think he’s perfect. I think it’s the way he did the crooked smile. xD
It seems as though he’s coped alot of slack. As the real Robert Pattinson he didn’t seem the best choice when I first heard/saw he was playing Edward but once I saw him in character in the trailer there seemed little doubt that he was the one for it. Also from interviews about Twilight and behind the scenes stuff he seems very compassionate about the character which can’t be said for Kristen Stewart who plays Bella. She looks the part but once she opens her mouth I’m not so sure? The movie version of her and the book version seem too different, unlike Edward. Part of what makes the actor the character is they way they feel about and from the cast interviews everybody else seems really into it except for her. Sometimes it seems like she doesn’t care or relate at all, and appears cold.

How could anyone have an opinion on that until they have seen the film?
i have read the books and Pattinson doesn’t really match Cullen’s character. but I am not sure who I would put in the role

(and since I’m here…this is the closest to ‘my’ Edward Cullen that I’ve found so far and still not exactly the one I had in mind while reading the books http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/3602/2198/1600/1664/davidmckay.jpg ) hehe
