They might. If you look on Taylor Lautner’s IMBD page, it has him listed under New Moon. Taylor is cute and he’s a good actor, not to mention he has the abs to do the “new and improved” Jacob Black. But, according to others, he’s not tall enough and some people want that Michael Copon guy to do it instead. I hope they keep Taylor because although we didn’t get to see much of his potential in Twilight, if you see his other roles, like in My Own Worst Enemy, he has the potential to do it. In my opinion (as you asked), Michael Copon is a arrogant jerk. He was bragging on his MySpace page that he had gotten the part of Jacob Black and nothing was confirmed yet. So I hope they keep Taylor Lautner.
Yes, they are recasting a new person to play the role of Jacob Black. Mainly, because in the second book, New Moon, Jacob is supposed to look older and more muscular. They said that “he doesn’t look old enough to carry the romantic weight of the film.”
They are thinking of making Michael Copon, from Scorpion King 2, to play Jacob Black in the second movie or Ben Barnes from Prince Caspian.
on E! News they said the producers think he has too much of a “baby face”
and he’s not big enough to portray jacob in new moon since he gets all huge and everything.
but his publicist is trying to show that with digitally enhancing his muscles and such, he can look big enough to play the part.
theyre either going to use taylor lautner (who is who played him in twilight) or Micheal Copon- who was in bring it on in it to win it!
cause taylor lautner is 16 and in the second book it says how he looked so much older after a while……thats y they would use micheal!

They said it hasn’t been decided yet. They also got a different director so most likely they will also change the actors. All though I hope they don’t. The books are better then the movie but the movie was pretty amazing.

No one knows for sure right now, but he’s weight lifting and all that stuff so he’ll look buff and gets the part. Yes, I also agree that he should keep the part!
