I just can’t remember if Bella already knew that the Cullens were vampires by the time Jacob told her the legends and stories.

Jacob told Bella a story about the cold ones. so Bella researched it and found out that the Cullens were vamps. BUT She confronted Edward about it and he admited to her that they were vampires. so it was really EDWARD that told her DIRECTLY that the Cullens were vamps. See? I’m SMART!!!
Bella did not know that the Cullens were vampires at the time Jacob told her the legend. However, she had already realized that Edward was unlike a typical human. She just could not put her finger on what it was that made him so different.
Jacobs telling of that legend and his answer to her question – “I thought they just moved here?” “Or just moved back.” opened her up to the possiblity of the legend being true. At which time, she began some oneline research of the subject.
No Bella didn’t fully know that the Cullen clan were vampires at the time but she was suspicious in why Edward was acting that way towards her. But at the beach she heard one of Jacobs friends saying ‘the Cullens don’t come here’. So she wanted to find out more so she tried to in a way flirt with Jacob so she would tell him the story. About the werewolves and Vampires and after this she wanted to find out more and then this led to research and then her finding out what he is. So technically she had her own ideas but Jacob in a way sort of confirmed this for her!! Hope I could help
Yes and no. He definetly starts the questions Bella starts making about all the wierd stuff she sees the cullens doing. (esp. Edward). and since he tells her the story abouit his ancestors and the cullens, he pretty much told her the answer to a question she hadnt yet asked him.

He just gave her the legend that his people believe. She actually looked information up on the net, which confirmed what she thought was true after Jacob’s story. I suppose you could say that he laid the foundation and she built her information from there
Jacob is the one who led her to believe that the cullen’s were vampires but she actually figures it out on her own.

Well Jacob didn’t full out tell her, but he was the one who led her to thinking that they were and so she did research. She found out with jacob’s help.
