I COULDN’T WAIT FOR THIS BOOK TO COME OUT, AFTER READING “A KISS OF SHADOWS”.
THIS BOOK HAS MORE OF A MYSTREY IN IT THEN THE FIRST BOOK, WELL TO SAY…A LARGE MYSTREY OF LARGE AMOUNT OF HUMAN KILLINGS IN LARGE NUMBERS.
SHE ALSO MEETS THE ONLY OTHER FEY IN LOS ANGELS. WHO HAPPEND TO BE IN THE SEELIE COURT BUT HAS BEEN EXILED BY THE KING OF THE SEELIE COURT FOR MANY YEARS NOW.
SHE DICOVERS SHE ALSO HAS A NEW POWER; A GREAT POWER….
Rating: 5 / 5
Princess Merry of the Unseelie Court has been made co-heir to the throne along with her cousin Cel. The first one to get pregnant or give a woman an heir will be the new ruler of the court. Even though Cel is under punishment now for six months, Merry has too many enemies to feel safe at the court. She returns to Los Angeles with her harem of males (fertile sidhe who can get her pregnant) and goes back to her old job as a private detective.
A very famous movie star Maeve Reed hires Merry to perform a fertility rite so she can get pregnant by her husband before he dies. She was banished from the Seelee Court because she knows a secret about its’ king that would get him killed if it was ever revealed. Before Merry can perform the ceremony, the Nameless has been released on the world with Merry and Maeve as its specific targets, and unless someone can stop it, a massacre will occur.
Readers were introduced to Merry in A KISS OF SHADOWS but in the sequel, A CARESS OF TWILIGHT Merry finally comes into her own. She is no longer fearful and anxious, but instead is a fully mature woman ready to fight to keep her people safe. There is enough romance, action, fantasy and adventure to keep lovers of all genres satiated.

A good read. Very original, I enjoyed this book because of the world full of imagination and love you are drawn into while reading it.

A sexy book, yes, but weak, plot-wise. I’m not a big fan of Hamilton’s prose, as I feel that she oftentimes spend too much time saturating her characters’ dialogue with superfluous description than just delivering the points. I have a feeling the book wouldn’t have had half as many pages if she hadn’t described every single piece of dialogue or action with no less than fifty words. Despite that, the novel was entertaining to read and has interesting characters. I find myself rooting for a certain character now to win her affections (and the throne) and am intrigued enough to buy the next sequel.

I couldn’t wait to read one of Hamilton’s books, as I had heard so many good things about her stories. I thought I would try her Faery World first as the Anita Blake series is very big and I am behind.I couldn’t wait for this book to end. It had no plot and the characthers did nothing but sit around, or have sex. And I found the sex to be boring as well!Very good Idea that just did not pan out well. I may try another of her books, but so far I am not impressed. I felt like I was reading very bad fan fiction.
