For anyone who loves Twilight or even interested in the movie making process, this book is great! It gives you tons of picutes.. actually it's mostly pictures. It's a fast read filled with tons about the sets, clothes, stunts, and everything inbetween. It is so worth it!

Hardwicke, Catherine w/Stephenie Meyer
Twilight Director's Notebook

GEEZ! Could it be any smaller and still show photos? typical 5x7 paperback novel size, thinner than most. nice hardback cover, but you'll break the spine trying to see Rob Pattinson's face in both two-page spreads where Edward is faceless or headless.

I bought it of course. They knew it's a sure thing for collections if nothing else but its also full of very cool photos, drawings, and journal notes. I'm just being blunt because I expected something the same size and quality as the movie companion from last fall. See Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion
That photo book was absolutely perfect so this one had a pretty big shadow to overcome. Sadly, it didn't. But thanks anyway Catherine.

We loved your creative work and passion for Twilight. You will be missed and your notebook is a treasure.

I was expecting a lot more text in the book. I was surprised to see that every page was pretty much a photo with some handwriting scrawled in. I understand that this was indeed a director's notebook and that's what they do but I expected to read more of what Catherine felt and thought during the creation of the film. I was expecting something a bit more intimate, a little insight into the mind of the director. However, I was entertained with the pictures and it was pretty interesting in the end. I can't say that I was disappointed in the photos. I love Twilight and this is a great piece to add to my collection of memorabilia but it just would have been nice to see more writing and more from the heart of the director. But we must take into consideration the audience for which these books were initially written, young adults, and then it makes more sense to me. I am not of that age bracket and what appeals might not be the same for them. All in all, it's still a good book but if you're looking for something to actually READ, this book isn't it.

Ok so loved this book, not only does it add to my twilight collection it was wonderfully layed out. I loved the fact that it as like a little scrapbook of all her ideas I think the pictures are great I think the whole thing was reeally well done. For those of you having a whine becuase thre wasnt enough "content" i think your way of the mark u only need to look at all her little notes and pictures to see the effort she put into the process of this movie and after all it is only a handbook not some "In Depth Guide into everything that went into the Twilgiht Movie"....
